Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Clarity Parent. By accessing our service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Effective date: April 22, 2026Last updated: August 17, 2026Governed by California law

1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Clarity Parent ("Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Clarity Parent, a California-based company. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service.

2Description of Service

Clarity Parent helps parents and guardians prepare for Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings for children with disabilities. Our Service allows you to:

  • Upload your child's IEP and receive an analysis of it — a plain-language breakdown, an assessment of the goals, the concerns we would raise, and questions to take into the meeting
  • Generate questions and checklists to take into an IEP meeting, tailored to the child profile information you provide
  • Access educational guides and resources related to special education

Every analysis is reviewed by a Licensed School Psychologist before it reaches you. Nothing our AI produces is published to your dashboard until a psychologist has checked it against the document you uploaded and approved or corrected it. Analyses are published within 2 business days of upload.

Clarity Parent is an informational tool. It does not constitute legal, medical, or educational advice, and should not replace consultation with qualified professionals, school staff, or legal counsel.

3Plans and Pricing

Free Plan: Clarity Parent offers a genuinely free tier with core features available at no cost — no credit card required and no time limit.

Paid Plans: Premium features are available for a one-time payment per IEP cycle. We do not offer recurring subscriptions. Your purchase unlocks the features listed for that plan, and you retain access to what you generate with them.

All payments are processed securely. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase and may be updated for future IEP cycles. Completed purchases are subject to our refund policy as described in Section 8.

4User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Keep your password confidential and not share account access
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, pose a risk to the Service or other users.

5Your Child’s Information and Data Privacy

We take the privacy of student education records seriously. The child information you enter — your child's first name, grade, and optionally a disability category and school district — is handled with the following protections:

  • No data training: It is never used to train AI models, shared with third parties for commercial purposes, or retained beyond what is necessary to deliver the Service.
  • You retain ownership: You own your child's records. We do not claim any rights over your child's IEP or related records.
  • Secure transmission: It is transmitted and stored using industry-standard encryption.
  • Your responsibility: You represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose information you enter, or are otherwise authorized to provide it.
  • Deletion: Deleting your account deletes this information in the same operation.

See our Privacy Policy for the full detail, including what happens if we introduce an IEP analysis feature.

6Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Submit information about a child you do not have the legal right to share
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
  • Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Introduce malicious code, viruses, or harmful files into the Service

7Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

Where the Service provides AI-generated summaries or analyses, they are for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, Clarity Parent does not guarantee that any AI output is complete, accurate, or applicable to your specific situation. Always verify important information with a qualified special education advocate, attorney, or school official.

8Refunds and Cancellations

Clarity Parent offers one-time purchases per IEP cycle — not subscriptions. Because our services involve significant professional time and digital delivery, refund eligibility is tied to whether the purchased service has been published to your dashboard. An analysis is published at the moment a Licensed School Psychologist approves it and it becomes visible to you — normally within 2 business days of upload. Work we have done but not yet published to you does not count against a refund.

Standard Plan ($79)

Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase, provided no analysis has yet been published to your dashboard. Once an analysis is published — or if you save, print, export or download any Standard plan content — the service has been rendered and is non-refundable. If you experienced a technical issue or have an exceptional circumstance, please contact us at support@clarityparent.com. We review every request in good faith and will work toward a fair resolution — though we cannot guarantee a refund once an analysis has been published.

Premium Plan ($179)

Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase, provided your expert review has not yet been delivered to your dashboard. Once your written expert review is delivered, the service is non-refundable, as a Licensed School Psychologist has devoted professional time to your child's specific case. If you have an exceptional circumstance, please reach out to us — we review all requests in good faith, though we cannot guarantee a refund after service delivery.

Ultra Plan ($350)

Due to the significant professional time involved in consultations, expert reviews, and psychoeducational report analysis, Ultra plan purchases are non-refundable. Consultation appointments must be canceled at least 48 hours in advance — same-day cancellations and no-shows forfeit the appointment. If you have an extenuating circumstance, contact us at support@clarityparent.com and we will review your situation individually. Refunds for Ultra plans are granted at our sole discretion and are not guaranteed.

To request a refund or discuss your situation, email support@clarityparent.com with your order details. We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days.

9Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Clarity Parent shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

11Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us or email us at legal@clarityparent.com.
